Radio Voima

Radio Voima is local radio station in Lahti. I got lucky to get chosen in this group of 4 person from our class to come up new logo for recently renamed radio station. We had one month to get this project done, through several different iterations we ended up having this “shrimp” form to be our best option, although it is difficult to get working due it’s asymmetrical and restless shape. On typography front we had our battle with combining Bauhaus and Rezland typefaces into one we like the most, sadly VAG from 1979 got eventually chosen. Our shrimp was used only for short period of time, like 3 years and is not anymore present in Radio Voima’s logo. I could see the problems of this kind of active, open and asymmetrical logomark. However the cherry color on dot was kept along with VAG typeface.
