Me and my friends like to play games for insalubrious week every year on our summer vacation. For this event I designed logo and look and feel for the website. Logo was made with Adobe illustrator, some graphic elements were bought from image stock and modified. As we had means and avenue we also created website for our extended friends to see us gaming. Fun times.
FysioHeal approached me with the need of website and we set our goal to make informative and responsive website. Business owner, Suvi is very passionate about her trade and extensively educated as a physiotherapist. We talked about how Suvi wants to present her services and benchmarked several physiotherapy websites. After discussions decided to lean on having thorough description of services and give clients walk-through of the content of the service.
This content heavy approach needed much more effort from my client, but this approach made FysioHeal website much better in organic searches and there is less need for advertisement. Suvi provided me great deal of textual material about her services which I then transformed to more digestible format for readers and SEO standards.
Activity and warmth were values we wanted to promote. Orange was natural choice as main color for the site, specially as most of the competitors are using blue, cold and calm colors. Photos were bought from stocks and some nature images I have taken on my trekking trips.
Finn-Savotta hired me to finish their webstore development project and I was given two months to complete this project. They had already selected CMS and presented me unfinished demo layout for webstore. CMS for Savotta store is Oscar, and that was first time I heard of the platform. Several templates needed to be designed and changed from default templates to meet Savotta’s brand. While working on design I also iterated Savotta’s product categories for easier browsing. As a result new webstore improved mobile and tablet user experience, clarified product categories, enabled better product photo and video presentation and now users can print product cards from website. Also in-house media team stepped up their game and produced new product photos of all products for this new webstore.
I was contacted by Jarmo “Jakke” Teräsheimo and he asked if I would be able to help his organization. As an organization they are doing this on volunteer basis so I decided to do the same with this project. I don’t share the christian values with organization but I do see the good work they are doing and can fully support that.
Operaatio Avoin Ovi ry is major food bank operating in Lahti and surrounding region. Operaatio avoin ovi gathers donated food from groceries and stocks to be shared for small independent organizations, which then distribute food-aid to people in need. As operations have grown during the years they had to invest in cold storage warehouse.
Before this website organization was doing it’s miracles with donations gathered from local congregations and OAO was doing it very succesfully. However new food regulations started to apply to this organization because of the size of operations. This website was first attempt for OAO to make case for itself to apply government grants and recognition. And for the first time organization was forced to articulate their mission outside congregation circles. I got to know organization, participated meetings and events as observer and helped organization to tell about themselves.

Coldex is company that offers refrigeration solutions and maintenance for companies. I participated in making facelift to their website and upgrading it to use different content management system. I worked closely with their project manager to get look and usability customed for their users’ needs.
Livestock 2015 is our annual gaming event where yours truly and friends get together play games. And while at gaming get ridiculed by rest of the internet… or 200 dedicated fans. Again I was responsible for design while other guys developed features like chat, video, game logger and so on.
This year I decided to make our mascot to be a mutation of farm animals. I drew cow, donkey and wild boar with Adobe Illustrator. After that I merged key features from those animals together. Then name came to me, it’s like woodstock, but with farm animals. We printed these things on mugs, shirts and had fun.
Sadun taikaa Oy hired me to create visual identity and website for them. They needed website which they could maintain themselves and make it the best day care center website in Lahti. As a client Sadun taikaa was very easy to communicate with and they were actively participating in getting material. They made my design process easy, swift and pleasant. Sadun taikaa invited me to join them to take photos of their trip in Lanu park with amazing bunch of kids. Photos from that trip were used on website.
This piggyjob was done for one of our annual summer gaming weeks in 2014. During years we have gained some weight so I wanted to include a pig in design. And why not to give this pig wings! Having experience from earlier years, I made this logo to have bigger shapes to be more durable after printed on t-shirts. On our website this pig was reduced to head and wings and to really pop-up, I turned website dark with these 80’s neon color accents.
I designed this logo for our summer gaming website. This year we were monitoring our weights and reported changes on our website. One week sitting, eating and not really moving does ramp up your weight.
Corneroids is a game developed by Mikko Pulkki. I was fortunate enough to get asked to make a small website for it. Game was prepared for being pre-released in Assembly 2012 to take part in Game Developer Competition and it had absolutely no graphics made for it – apart from textures in game. So within a week I had to come up with something. Game is similar to minecraft and space engineers before space engineers.
We needed somekind of logo, so I made this C letter with boxes on Adobe Photoshop. Somewhere in game there was really basic colors so I took pure yellow from there, dark theme was given as it’s a space thing and I made blocky website to underline building blocks of the game.
As there was so little to say about the game I suggested we don’t make normal website, instead fit everything on one page to make it look like a poster. Game ended up winning 3rd place in competition because it is so awesome.
